ABOUT US

The Exchange Club of Kiawah-Seabrook was founded in 1982 and is a member of the National Exchange Club based in Toledo, Ohio. One of our proudest traditions is planting our country's flags at key spots on Kiawah and Seabrook Island on national holidays recognizing those brave citizens who have served their country and given their life to uphold the values that we cherish so strongly. Each flag has a yellow ribbon with the name of a man or woman who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom and the democratic ideals that make our country a beacon of light for the world.

The Exchange Club of Kiawah-Seabrook provides a social network for residents of Johns and Wadmalaw Islands to meet twice monthly either at the Turtle Point Club House on Kiawah Island or at the Island House on Seabrook Island. At these dinner meetings, we have an opportunity to get updated on the Club's Activities, enjoy a delicious dinner and hear speakers from our community discuss items of interest to our members. Recent speakers include members of the medical and financial fields as well as current and former political leaders.

Our members also participate in fund raising efforts to support grants to local charities. The Club publishes an annual directory of residents and local businesses which through our advertising support raises over $ 100,000 each year to support our grant recipients. In addition, we have created the Exchange Club of Kiawah-Seabrook Foundation ( a 501(c)3 charitable organization) that has raised money to support our grant efforts.

Full membership is currently $ 175.00 per quarter and includes all the dinners and a cash bar with discounted prices. We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. For part time residents, we offer an At-Large membership which is $ 40.00 per quarter but the dinners are billed separately at $ 35.00 each.

Members are expected to volunteer to serve on committees to support our grant efforts and assist in our sales efforts to recruit advertisers for our directory. It is fun and rewarding as we help to improve the lives of many people in our community.
